Palate

1969 is a lesser, mediocre wine, which has sunk into oblivion. It should have been drunk by now. - October 2018

Growing Conditions

The grapes were subjected to a real wash-out by the heavy and almost unceasing rain of September; it was naturally impossible for them to reach a correct level of ripeness.

After a normal start to the growing season, July and August were hot and dry, therefore favourable, but September was extremely wet and ruined all the hopes that had been built up about this vintage.

Harvest

The picking began 29th September.
