Palate

Today, it is still one of the greatest bottles of Margaux we have ever had the chance to taste. This wine displays a quite amazing freshness and remarkable length and smoothness. Never would we imagine that this wine is 150 years old !

Growing Conditions

This very early vintage benefited from excellent weather conditions throughout the whole of the ripening process.

Harvest

The cellar master noted, "Picking began on 10th September and finished on 23rd of the same month. Rain on the first day ; the rest of the time : heat."

Winemaking

This quite large crop (though a much smaller one than 1893) was of really extraordinary quality.
