Nose
Slightly woody bouquet with roasted and peppery notes. When stirred, the aromas of red fruits are fully expressed.
Palate
The mouth is full-bodied and the tannins soft and melted. Very pleasant, 2017 vintage offers a good persistence on the finish around black fruits and toasted notes.
Growing Conditions
An early harvest marked by a record-breaking frost.
After a dry, cold winter, the early spring was warm and humid, encouraging premature budbreak at the end of March. An extremely heavy frost affected a significant part of the area, especially on the nights of 27, 28 and 29 April, resulting in the loss of half of the harvest in the Bordeaux region. However, in the areas spared, flowering and veraison were premature and the hot summer helped the grapes to ripen well.
Harvest
The Merlot was harvested in mid September in very good sanitary conditions, followed by the Cabernet Sauvignon, harvested from 25 September.
Appearance
A ruby-red wine with a beautiful shine.
Food Pairing
Roasted chicken with baked potatoes
Meat, vegetables grilled on the barbecue
