Famille DucourtMonsieur Ducourt - Off Dry Wine - Vin de France White

Henri Ducourt passed down to us his entrepreneurial passion. He taught us to draw the best from each of our terroirs by combining traditional knowledge with modern techniques: a work philosophy that we strive to perpetuate in order to produce pleasurable wines that are both authentic and affordable. When he took his retirement, Henri settled down at Haurets, his final ‘coup de coeur’. He restored the ancient chartreuse and patiently planted numerous trees and rose bushes around the chateau building. He turned it into a welcoming home where we enjoy gathering together. For his 85th birthday, we wanted to pay him tribute by dedicating these unusual wines to him. We took inspiration for the packaging from the bright colours of certain roses that he grows in his garden

It served to dedicate a part of the production to new child or elders in the family as well as to celebrate birthdays. These bottles were also regularly enjoyed during meals, whether with family, friends or business associates. Serious work has been carried out in the vineyard and in the winery to restore this historic property that was bought by our family in 2001. Situated on the eastern side of the appellation, its terroir provides beautiful, elegant Merlot, the favoured right-bank varietal. It is said that this chateau was originally the den of an unmerciful warlord; he was named "Le Noir“ – The Black - due to his black armor and his tendency to attack after sunset. By day he lived there with his men, soldiers or winemakers… and by night he plotted with his thieves.

Jean Pierre Xiradakis, the owner of the renowned restaurant “La Tupina” met our family a few years ago, which has been producing wines in Bordeaux since 1858. Together, we decided to breathe life back into Rosé Limé, which is produced following an authentic recipe: a base of rosé wine with a careful blend of natural red fruit aromas, and a touch of fizz. In the 50s, this was the drink of choice in the cafés of South-West France and the brasseries of Paris.
