Winemaking
Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc are the three grape varieties most emblematic of our region, used in the wines of the most prestigious Bordeaux appellations such as Saint-Emilion.
The vinification process for Le Petit Grand makes use of the latest in winemaking technology, but with the utmost respect for the traditional methods upon which Bordeaux's reputation is founded. The grapes are harvested at peak maturity, de-stemmed and lightly pressed. Maceration before fermentation allows the grapes to reveal their intense colour and powerful fruit flavours. Fermentation lasts for around two weeks, followed by a maturing process which can take between 6 and 8 months. We go to great lengths to respect and preserve the distinctive fruity character of the grapes.
