A brief history
THE GREAT SAUTERNES WINES ARE “PLEASURE” WINES. REMARKABLE FOR THEIR FRUITY AND SPICY CHARACTER, THEY FIND THE IDEAL BALANCE BETWEEN VOLUME AND FRESHNESS, DUE TO THE ACIDITY PROVIDED BY AN EXCEPTIONAL TERROIR.
They can be consumed young, after decanting to promote their aromatic expression, or more mature, with notes of roasting and mineral. They are appreciated fresh but not chilled, rather around 10 degrees.
They are delicious on their own for a moment of relaxation or as an aperitif. They also go very well with foie gras in all its forms, as well as fine fish in cream and shellfish. They go wonderfully with white meat or exotic dishes based on fruit and sweet spices, with powerful cheeses such as Roquefort, or fruity desserts.
