A brief history

Proudly culminating at 43 meters Listrac is also called "the roof of the Médoc".
Already renowned in the XVIII th century, Listrac has a history closely linked to that of a group of men who did recognize the reputation of their wines obtaining AOC status.
Listrac-Médoc has thus become one of the six municipal appellations of the Médoc thanks to the typicity and the reputation of its wines.
Three magnificent ridges of Pyrenean gravel to the west, a hill of Garonne gravel to the east and a plateau on a limestone base, on the central part, make the richness of this terroir. The natural slopes promote good soil drainage.
The relative freshness of the climate, linked to the windy situation and close to the forest, favors the slow and regular maturation favorable to great wines.
The gravelly croups are mainly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, which gives all its impetuosity to Listrac, while on the limestone plateau, Merlot dominates, whose fruitiness and flesh perfectly coat its wines.
