Nose

Cedar and smoked meats on the nose giving way to black and red plums and earthy notions with wafts of cassis and pencil shavings.

Palate

The palate is medium to full-bodied, elegant, polished and vivacious with loads of red and black fruit layers and an earthy finish. There is great blackberry fruit on the mid-palate with great tension and then tannins which just grow and grow. It finishes with good grip and zip.

Growing Conditions

The 9-hectare vineyard is on top of one of the finest plateaux in Pomerol and is planted with Merlot (80%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) and Cabernet Franc (10%).

Aging

It was aged using the Oxoline system, in 70% new and 30% one-year-old barrels for 16 months.

Appearance

It has a deep garnet-purple color.
