Expressive, rich and complexe mixing black berries (blackcurrant, black cherry) as well as spicy and minty notes.


Harmonious, well-balanced, fine and elegant with ripe tannins. The long aftertaste is aromatic with a hint of vanilla and tobacco notes.

Growing Conditions

Careful selection and minimal interference in the natural ripening of the grapes according sustainable farming rules. For many years Barton & Guestier has been involved in responsible farming. Chateau Magnol is member of the first organisation for the Environmental Management System for Bordeaux wines, certified ISO 14001 in 2013. As from its 2016 vintage Chateau Magnol has been certified "High Environmental Value" - level 3. Todoay this is the highest level of environmental certification for agriculture.


The harvest started on September 19th for the Merlot grapes, on October 2nd for Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, and on October 5th for Petit Verdot.


The wine was bottled in May, June 2020.


Alcoholic fermentation took place at 30°C with one rack and return per day. The wine then stayed on the skins for 3 weeks. No sulphites are used during the vinifications. After malolactic fermentation, the wine was directly put on oak barrels.


Chateau Magnol is aged in 350-ltr French oak barrels (of which 30% new).


Deep and brilliant ruby red colour.
