Nose

A fragrant mix of candied violets and blueberry pastilles lead the way, with subtle notes of crayon wax, lavender, and red currants adding nuance and intrigue. It’s floral, fruity, and just the right amount.

Palate

The Cabernet adds floral vivacity and a full bodied palate to the rich and round Merlot. The use of oak completes its balance and length.

Growing Conditions

Located in a historically cooler pocket than Saint-Émilion, this site was once seen as a challenge—but with climate change reshaping the region, it’s become a key advantage. The vines thrive on the same limestone and clay soils found in nearby Pomerol and Saint-Émilion, giving the wines both structure and finesse.

The Corbin estate is now managed by Jacques Rambeau, and has been a family property for four generations. It values dedicated work and respect for the terroir. It has, therefore, decided to commit to ‘reasoned’ viticulture and is HEV-certified (a French certificate acknowledging high environmental value). Clos Albertus is a small 1.5-hectare vineyard in the Saint-Georges-Saint-Émilion appellation, and produces the most premium wine. The property faces south and stands at the foot of hillsides that afford breathtaking views over the town of Saint Émilion.
