Growing Conditions
In 2023, Bordeaux viticulture faces a vintage marked by global warming, leading to an earlier vine cycle than in recent decades.
The meteorological winter of 2023 is characterized by near-normal weather averages, but nonetheless marked by a continuous period of cool, low-rain weeks starting in mid-January.
Spring conditions favored the virulence of mildew, posing challenges to vineyards, particularly in Bordeaux.
Beyond this generally difficult situation, 2023 is also a generous vintage in terms of volume, which benefited from excellent ripening conditions, demonstrating once again the vine's ability to adapt to extreme weather conditions. The harvest begins on September 8th on our early-ripening plots, located along the Pomerol plateau, and will continue smoothly until September 28th, giving us time to pick each plot selection at its peak ripeness.
