Nose
The complex bouquet develops intense notes of dark fruits and a hint of chalk typical of Merlot grown on limestone.
Palate
Fleshy and unctuous from the outset, the wine is generous and fresh in equal measure and perfect balanced, underpinned by a concentrated, tannic base layer. The lengthy finish is lifted by a fresh lick of white pepper.
Harvest
Harvest: by hand, plot by plot. Optical sorting.
Winemaking
The first vintage vinified in the new winery, it reveals all the complexity of the Château La Garde terroir with panache and harmony.
Malolactic fermentation partially in barrels.
Aging
Ageing 12 to 14 months in oak barrels (33% of which are new) on fine lees.
