Nose

Bouquet marked by freshness and fruity notes. Fruity and fond attack.

Palate

At the palate the wine is fresh, balanced and racated. Good aromatic intensity at the end of the mouth. The tannins are in the background while the structure confers a bit of vivacity. A wine to drink in his youth.

Growing Conditions

A hard weather with the freezing of April 26 produced a historically low harvest throughout the vineyards of Bordeaux. The very small 2017 crop, the lowest in quantity since 1991, is expected to represent a decline of more than 40% compared to 2016.

The little red wine produced comes with a beautiful aromatic expression, colour, fruit and freshness. The wines are supple round and balanced in the mouth. Even if he made us suffer throughout the year to carry it through all our rows of vines without finding many clusters, 2017 produced a "pretty vintage" of red wine with a quality far superior to that of the last historical Frost in 1991.

Indeed, the too small quantities of grapes in some plots prevented us from producing Château Haut-Chaigneau And La Sergue in Lalande de Pomerol. All the fruits of these plots are gathered together in La Croix Chaigneau (usually second wine of Haut-Chaigneau) in 2017.

It follows a beautiful wine, perhaps a little more dense and fleshy than usual, which kept a blend Merlot/Cabernet franc balanced because it is essentially the earlier Merlots, which were affected by the spring frost.
