Nose

With finesse and elegance, it is distinguished by its seductive delicate bouquet and its richness in aromas of ripe fruit and toasted almond.

Growing Conditions

The wines grow on gentle hillsides facing the Gironde, with good natural drainage. The vineyard grows on a clay-limestone terroir and extends over some 6 hectares planted with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Harvest

Traditional, pruning double guyot shearing and de-leafing.

Aging

Ageing in hake oak barrels (80% new, 20% one to two years old). The wine is aged for 15 months in hake oak barrels renewed three-quarters each year.

Appearance

Château Haut Barrail wine has a dark garnet color.
