A brief history
CHÂTEAU DE HAUT COULON is tended like a garden but vinified like a Grand Cru, producing a bold, original wine with an inimitable style. Located in the village of Sainte-Eulalie, the Haut-Coulon vineyard is planted with three classic Bordeaux varietals: Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. With only 3.86 hectares, this is the smallest family estate property, but one of the most interesting geologically: its soils contain blue montmorillonite clay. In the winery, truncated conical tanks of aerated concrete optimise tannin and flavour extraction.
