The Saint-Émilion Cru Classification is revised every 10 years. Thus, some wines can become Grand Cru Classé or be excluded from the classification. The classification is based primarily on the quality of the wine, as assessed by professionals who blindly taste 10 consecutive vintages of the candidate wines. Château de Candale will be a candidate for the future Saint-Émilion Cru Classification in 2032.
