Nose
On the nose the wine is wonderfully complex with aromas of black fruit, cinnamon, clove, dried violets, and a hint of tobacco.
Palate
Everything about the palate is balanced with medium body, fine tannins creating a linear structure, food friendly acidity, and a surprisingly long finish.
Harvest
Chateau Campillot - a small estate of 9 hectares in the south of Medoc. Since 2005, it has been run by two friends, Tristan Rose de Ordón and Jean-Dominique Vido. "Campillot" literally means "small field". The surrounding area is an interesting variety of soils: from clay-gravel to limestone. Thus, in its assortment there are perfectly balanced, elegant and elegant wines, which are dominated by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. In the cellar, as in the vineyards, traditions are supported by modern technology.
Winemaking
In the wine Chateau Campillot, Medoc AOC traced recognizable handwriting of its creator, Jean-Dominique Wido, which is characterized by style, elegance and at the same time a good concentration. In the process of vinification in small tanks with a volume of 50-80 hl, a rather low fermentation temperature is maintained. Fermented juice is separated on an old hydraulic press.
Aging
The wine is aged 12 months in French oak barrels (25% of new barrels), which complicates the bouquet and strengthens its structure.
