Nose

The nose is intense and complex with notes of red and black fruits (cherry, blackcurrant) supported by aromas of melted woods and spices (vanilla, gingerbread, liquorice stick)

Palate

The attack is soft with a lot of freshness, the mouth is fleshy and the finish long and elegant. The tannins are all in finesse which makes the whole very harmonious. The mouth reveals intense and persistent aromas of candied fruit, kirch cherry, brioche, cigar box, gingerbread and cedar.

Growing Conditions

The vines are spread over three main plateaus in the municipality of Valeyrac, with different terroirs: clay-limestone, clay-gravel, sandy-gravel, all overlooking the Gironde estuary.

This exposure is beneficial for climatology, because it regulates, especially in summer, large temperature differences and brings a little freshness.

The grape varieties are planted according to their adaptation to the land the merlot represents 50%, the cabernet sauvignon 40%, the cabernet franc 8% and the petit verdot 2%.

The average age of the vines is 40 years with a density of 7,500 feet/ha, they are narrow and low.

Appearance

This wine is brilliant and has a garnet color with some ruby reflections.
