Château La Mission Haut-Brion

A brief history

La Mission Haut Brion dates back to the end of the 16th century. The property was built after it was bought by Jean de Pontac in 1533. Pontac was also the owner of what later became Chateau Haut Brion. Jean de Pontac was responsible for the birth of several of the best estates and vineyards in Bordeaux. La Mission Haut-Brion is now one of the jewelry of Domaine Clarence Dillon, which has completely reconstructed the chateau and added state-of-the-art wineries. Chateau La Mission Haut Brion and Chateau Haut Brion are currently managed by Jean-Philippe Delmas. Chateau La Mission Haut Brion needs 15-25 years to truly offer its best qualities. Young years can be decanted for 3-4 hours or more.
