A brief history

Jérôme GOUIN, owner of Château Vieille Tour, has become a winemaker
following his grandfathers skills, who has teached him how to grow vines with love and dedication.

Château Vieille Tour , located 40 kms south of Bordeaux next to the village of Cadillac. The vines are grown in a traditional and sustainable way and vineyard stretches over 16 hectares on the right bank of the Garonne river, on a limestone, clay and gravelly hilltop (110 meters altitude), that is part of the « Côtes de Bordeaux » designation of origin.

The grape varieties used are typical to the region, and their blend contributes to the complexity and balance of the red, rosé and white wines produced under the controlled appellations of the « Côtes de Bordeaux », « Bordeaux », « Cadillac » and « Crémant de Bordeaux » winegrowing areas.

The red wines, predominantly made of Merlot, but blended together with Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, are black and red fruit driven with an elegant spiciness, and fresh, minty aromas.

Thanks to a good canopy-management, well-drained soils and a an optimal sun-exposure, the wines tend to be full-bodied and perfectly balanced, with a good ageability but basically very nice to drink young.
